NBA DFS Picks & Projections for Today: November 1
We have a nine-game NBA slate to close out the week, meaning there will be plenty of games to pick players from for NBA DF. With no teams coming off back-to-backs, look for players to get their regular run of minutes in today’s games.
Below, we will preview games to target on the NBA DFS slate, plus NBA picks, predictions, and projections for NBA Friday on PrizePicks. You can find today’s full NBA DFS Projections on the PrizePicks app.
Today’s nationally televised games are the Orlando Magic — without star Paolo Banchero — versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, followed by the Denver Nuggets versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Magic-Cavs game had hype around it with how both small-market teams are starting hot, plus a rematch of last year’s first-round seven-game Playoff showdown.
The other seven-game series in last year’s playoffs also meet today between Denver and Minnesota guard Anthony Edwards is scorching hot to start the season with at least five three-pointers made in every game so far.

Kings vs. Hawks: Time, How to Watch, Location
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA League Pass
Two top-10 scoring teams will battle in Atlanta as the Kings travel to face the Hawks. A week into the season, both teams are scoring over 116 points per game and are seventh and ninth respectively in the league in points per game. They’re also seventh and ninth in pace.
We are likely to get a fast-paced, high-scoring affair in this one if last year’s meetings were any indication of things to come.
The two stars to watch for are obviously the point guards De’Aaron Fox and Trae Young. Young already has two 30-point, 10-assist games in the season while Fox has two 30-point games this season.
Pacers vs. Pelicans: Preview, Time, TV
Time: 8 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA League Pass
The New Orleans Pelicans will welcome a change of scenery and change of pace. They suffered back-to-back losses to the Warriors and combined for under 200 points in those losses.
Despite both these teams being middle of the road in pace, Indiana’s defense is on the complete opposite end of where the Warriors are. Golden State ranks second in least points per game allowed while Indiana is 26th.
Both teams are top-10 in field goal attempts and three-point attempts allowed. New Orleans’ attack may not come from downtown today due to key injuries to guards CJ McCollum, Trey Murphy, and Herb Jones, who are all out.
Look for them to get creative and use forwards Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson to attack Indiana’s shaky defense.

Knicks C Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Pistons: 1.5 3-Pointers Made — More
Knicks C Karl-Anthony Towns goes up against a Detroit team who has struggled to defend the three-ball against bigs who can stretch the floor. To no surprise, Bam Adebayo and Andre Drummond did not make a three-pointer against Detroit. In their other three games, however, Myles Turner, Al Horford, and Evan Mobley all hit multiple threes against the Pistons.
The Pistons give up the fifth most three-pointers to centers. Towns is slowly getting into a groove as he is still adjusting to a new team and role but look for him to get going from outside in this matchup.

De’Aaron Fox vs. Hawks: 29.5 Pts+Rebs — More
Back again with Fox who once again has a great matchup. Trae Young will be Fox’s primary defender and, despite improvements, he’s still a subpar defender. The Hawks currently allow the sixth-most fantasy points to point guards. They also allow the second-most points and sixth-most rebounds to guards.
So far, Atlanta has done well against opposing point guards to limit assists with the eighth least assists per game allowed which is why we’re attacking points and rebounds here rather than rebounds and assists like last time.

Nets G-F Ben Simmons vs. Bulls: 11 Rebs+Asts — More
Not known as a scorer by any means, Nets G Ben Simmons will look to be the team’s leading rebounder as he starts at center. With regular starter Nic Claxton still getting his minutes restricted due to the hamstring injury he picked up in training camp, Simmons will be the projected big on the floor for Brooklyn and the second-main ballhandler after Dennis Schroder.
In two games against Chicago since the post-Kevin Durant era, Simmons has cleared this projection of 11 both times. He came off the bench once and started in another game, showing that even in limited minutes. The Bulls are number one in pace meaning there will be plenty of possessions for Simmons to grab rebounds or take the ball up and be the main facilitator.

Nuggets C Nikola Jokic vs. Timberwolves: 39.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts (Goblin) — More
Despite a huge effort in Game 7 against Minnesota last year, Jokic and the Nuggets ultimately fell short against the Timberwolves despite holding a 20-point lead at one point. In their first meeting this season, look for the three-time MVP to get going early as he wants to put that one behind him.
Minnesota allows the fourth-most points to opposing centers, and Jokic has had to do more scoring this season compared to normal to keep the Nuggets competitive even against bad teams.
Despite Minnesota being one of the best in rebounds and assists allowed to opposing centers, Jokic is much different than most centers with his ability to distribute the basketball. With Jokic’s squares for points+rebounds and points+assists sitting at 39.5 and 35.5 respectively, 39.5 for full-game PRA should be easily attainable.
Note: Goblin projections have a reduced payout since they are easier to win
