Who Sings the Sunday Night Football Song?

There’s nothing better than sitting on the couch after a long day of football and hearing the Sunday Night Football song ring across America. Eight-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood sings the Sunday Night Football song. Underwood has sung the Sunday Night theme song since the 2013 season.

“Waiting All Day for Sunday Night”, sung by Carrie Underwood, is a reimagined version of “I Hate Myself for Loving You”, originally released by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. It’s so beautiful, I could cry.

Sunday Night Football Preview 2024

Los Angeles Rams @ Detroit Lions — September 8, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 7/10

We’re looking forward to…

The first “waiting all day for Sunday Night” of the season. Lions WR Jameson Williams potential emergence in his first full season. The follow-up season for Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. Plus, Blake Corum’s debut for the Rams, albeit as the team’s RB2.

Chicago Bears @ Houston Texans — September 15, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 7/10

We’re looking forward to…

The future of the NFL under center on both sides of the ball: 2024 No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams going head-to-head with NFL breakout star C.J. Stroud. Plus, the spotlight on Stefon Diggs with his new squad after being traded in the offseason.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Atlanta Falcons — September 22, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 6/10

We’re looking forward to…

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. A potential Taylor Swift appearance in Atlanta in support of Travis Kelce, as she’ll be on a tour break.

Plus, can the Falcons hang with a top NFL team with the bevy of offseason changes they made? This will be another test following their Week 2 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles

Buffalo Bills @ Baltimore Ravens — September 29, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 9/10

We’re looking forward to…

Josh Allen against a top defense with an almost completely new WR room. While the Ravens are expected to compete for the AFC title, there are a ton of question marks around the Bills. Some of them should be answered here.

Dallas Cowboys @ Pittsburgh Steelers — October 6, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 7/10

We’re looking forward to…

A legacy matchup in a primetime TV slot. The Steelers new offense, primarily Justin Fields’ impact against a tough Cowboys defense. Plus, Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb vs Joey Porter Jr.

Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Giants — October 13, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 4/10

We’re looking forward to…

Bengals pass rush versus an anemic Giants pass protection. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase versus the league’s worst secondary, according to Sharp Football.

New York Jets @ Pittsburgh Steelers — October 20, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 5/10

We’re looking forward to…

Steelers killer pass rush led by TJ Watt and Cam Heyward vs. the new-look Jets offensive line. Of course, Aaron Rodgers’ return to Sunday Night Football in his age 41 season will be the primary talk of this game.

Dallas Cowboys @ San Francisco 49ers — October 27, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 9/10

We’re looking forward to…

Two of the best teams in the NFC in 2023 going head-to-head. Nick Bosa and Javon Hargrave versus a Cowboys OL that took some hits in the offseason. Plus, if the Cowboys can hang with the 49ers after they were smacked 42-10 last year in San Francisco.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Philadelphia Eagles — November 3, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 8/10

We’re looking forward to…

The QB battle between Trevor Lawrence — now one of the NFL’s highest-paid QBs — and Jalen Hurts, two of the league’s brightest at the position. Jaguars’ made a lot of changes in the secondary this offseason, but will they be able to hang with the dangerous 1-2 punch of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith?

Detroit Lions @ Houston Texans — November 10, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 10/10

We’re looking forward to…

It’s always C.J. Stroud, isn’t it? But really, this is a really intriguing matchup between two teams that are poised to compete for conference titles in 2024. For either side, this would be a quality win as the playoff picture starts to shape up. Two high-powered offenses, in a dome, on primetime — this one is gonna be a ton of fun. Expect a lot of scoring.

Indianapolis Colts @ New York Jets — November 17, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 6.5/10

We’re looking forward to…

Anthony Richardson on primetime, navigating against a tough Jets defense that tends to shut down the run game. Also, Michael Pittman vs. Sauce Gardner.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Los Angeles Rams — November 24, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 7/10

We’re looking forward to…

Tell me this doesn’t look like a Wildcard Round matchup. Anyways, there should be a ton of points in this game — Rams pass-first look + Eagles stacked offense = fireworks on offense. Plus, the coaching battle between Nick Sirianni and Sean McVay.

San Francisco 49ers @ Buffalo Bills — December 1, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 8/10

We’re looking forward to…

Josh Allen and the Bills offense vs the top defense in the NFC. In past years, I’d have this game as a 10/10, but I have genuine concerns about the Bills offense this year, even with Allen. It does help that the 49ers are coming to Buffalo — they’ll have to play in the Buffalo cold.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs — December 8, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 7/10

We’re looking forward to…

Justin Herbert attempting to put the entire franchise on his back, now sans-Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams. That’s actually wild just to say out loud. Plus, as always, Patrick Mahomes and Rashee Rice cooking vs a weak Chargers secondary.

Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks — December 15, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 6/10

We’re looking forward to…

Pretty likely that this game has playoff implications for both teams as the season winds down, so look for that. Geno Smith tends to thrive at home, so even if the Seahawks are dogs, look for them to show out here. It will also be interesting to see who emerges from the Packers WR corps this year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Dallas Cowboys — December 22, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 7.5/10

We’re looking forward to…

Another game with likely playoff implications, though I’d imagine this could be make or break for a Cowboys squad that took a step back (roster-wise) in 2024. Also, how will Baker Mayfield fare in a hostile primetime environment where it’s all but guaranteed that Dak Prescott will put numbers on the board.

Oh, also for the Bucs, I’m curious to see how rookie WR Jalen McMillan has come along by this point – he was pretty sick in Washington and think he could emerge this season if he stays healthy.

Miami Dolphins @ Cleveland Browns — December 29, 2024

Where to Watch: NBC / Peacock

Must-watch Score: 7/10

We’re looking forward to…

The Dolphins high flying offense versus one of the best offenses in the NFL. Myles Garrett and Za’Darius Smith chasing down Tua Tagovailoa. Plus, this game should have playoff or seeding implications, so it should be a good one.
