NBA DFS Games to Target Today
Here are two games to target for NBA DFS production today, Thursday, December 5.
Bulls vs. Spurs
Time: 8 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA League Pass
This is a great game to attack for a couple of reasons. First, the Bulls have played at the fastest pace (104.82) and have the fifth-worst defensive rating (117.6) in the league. Whenever they are on the slate, they are one of the top teams to target.
Second, both the Bulls and Spurs are dealing with injuries. That means minutes should be more concentrated across fewer players. Bulls SG Coby White (ankle), PG Lonzo Ball (rest), and F Patrick Williams (foot) have all been ruled out for the Bulls, while PG Josh Giddey (ankle) is listed as questionable. Spurs C Victor Wembanyama (back) is out, removing the anchor of their defense.
PrizePicks Projection to Consider: Bulls G Zach LaVine 23.5 Points — More
Kings vs. Grizzlies
Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBA League Pass
The Grizzlies have played at the third-fastest pace (104.20) in the league, but they do have the seventh-best defensive rating (108.9). The Kings have not performed as well on the defensive end, ranking 19th in defensive rating (113.8).
In terms of injuries, both of these teams are in pretty good shape. Grizzlies C Zach Edey (ankle) remains out, and the Kings are without Trey Lyles (calf), but he was only averaging 20 minutes a game off the bench. The rest of their depth chart is healthy.
PrizePicks Projection to Consider: Kings C Domantas Sabonis 19 Points — More
NBA DFS Picks Today for PrizePicks
Here are four NBA DFS picks to help you build your PrizePicks NBA Lineups for today, Thursday, December 5.
Bulls C Nikola Vucevic vs. Spurs: 20.5 Points — More
Coby White being out is a significant loss for the Bulls. He is averaging 18.3 points per game. With him sidelined Monday against the Nets, Bulls C Nikola Vucevic scored 21 points. Over the last two seasons, Vucevic’s usage goes up 2.6% with White off the floor, per Add More Funds.
Vucevic is averaging 20.9 points per game for the season and things won’t be as difficult for him in the paint with Wembanyama — one of the league’s best defenders — out for the Spurs. This is a great spot for him to at least reach his season average in points.
Spurs G Devin Vassell vs. Bulls: 17.5 Points — More
Spurs G Devin Vassell has been limited to seven games this season because of injuries. When he has played, the team has been cautious with his minutes. Still, he is averaging 17.9 points per game.
He logged a season-high 28 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday, scoring 25 minutes along the way. If he can approach 30 minutes against the fast-paced Bulls, he could sail past this projection. He should also benefit from no Wembanyama; in a limited sample size of 82 minutes, Vassell has a 30% usage rate without Wemby this year.
Grizzlies F Santi Aldama vs. Kings: 10.5 Points — More
This projection almost seems too good to be true. Grizzlies F Santi Aldama is averaging 13.1 points per game this season. Since Edey went down, Aldama has averaged 15.3 points across eight games.
As one of the key members of the Grizzlies second unit, he should thrive against a Kings team that doesn’t have much size on their bench. If you’re looking for higher payouts, you can take Aldama’s Demon projection of 14.5 points.
Kings G Malik Monk 9.5 Rebs+Asts — More
Kings G Malik Monk is averaging 3.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game on the season. However, that doesn’t tell the entire story right now. Looking for a spark, the Kings are playing him more.
Monk has logged at least 35 minutes in four straight games and even started both of the last two games. That enabled him to combine for at least 12 rebounds and assists in each game. He is going to start and play a ton moving forward.
